Heart failure affects approximately 23 million people worldwide and is increasing in prevalence. This cardiovascular disorder has a poor prognosis and causes a high rate of hospitalization and rehospitalization and a high cost of treatment. However, there is much progress in the field of heart failure. Therefore, we are publishing a special edition to discuss new research in this field and the current management of this cardiovascular disorder. We extend an invitation to all persons doing clinical or basic research in heart failure or managing patients with heart failure to submit papers for this special edition to update the current information in this field.
